After 6 years of talking about it and six years of boring our friends and family by incessantly talking about it, we finally did it. We sold our home in our comfortable Sussex town and moved 650 miles to the north east coast of the Scottish Highlands.
Along with our three pups, we now have a beautiful little cottage, a stones throw from miles of golden sandy beach surrounded by the most beautiful landscape.
As cosy as our lovely cottage is, it hasn’t been lived in for a few years and hasn’t had much TLC for longer than that.
At the risk of sounded like a cliche (and old fashioned) blogger – this blog is being set up with the intention of tracking our progress. Our first house needed so much work done to it and when we look back at the photos, we felt so proud of everything we’d achieved. This time, I’d like some words to go with those pictures and a record of our move and new life in the Highlands.
I also want to keep an index of our walks, where we’ve explored and how they were for the dogs. One of the main drawers of moving up here was the outdoors and the scenery. We’re not going to be taking up any munro challenges anytime soon and we’re hardly fitness fanatics, but we do love a good walk. Being out with each other and the dogs, somewhere beautiful and exploring somewhere new is our favourite thing in the world. We found so many amazing walks in Sussex but we’d soon forget them the following year. This time, I’m determined to keep a record of walks we loved, perfect Scottish summer walks and those that were ideal in the wetter winter months.
